The CCHS band performs at all the home football games, home basketball
games and most of the playoffs, and pep rallies. The CCHS band
competes in the marching competitions and starts preparing for it in
midsummer.
During concert season the band is split into
symphonic and wind ensemble. Both symphonic and the wind ensemble
have several performances and competes in concert band competitions
through out the year. The CCHS band also attends the solo and
ensemble competition that is held in Pueblo every year.
Band isn't all work and no play. The band
plans a band trip every 2 to 3 years. The past two trips have been
to Portland for the Portland Rose Festival and to Washington D.C. for the
Cherry Blossom Parade. In 2003 the CCHS Band is planning on
attending the Portland Rose Festival which is June.
