Mr. Bill Betts has been
at CCHS since the 2002 school year. He has been working in
education since 1997. He earned his Master’s Degree in K-12
school counseling through the University of Northern Colorado.
Duties for Mr. Betts include College Night, web site, ASVAB/PLAN/PSAT
testing, IOOF, Student Support team, C & I representative,
BIONIC’s and Red Ribbon Week.

Mr. Knifong A

Mr. Dyle Knifong moved
into the Counseling Department during the 1997-1998 school year.
He received his MA in Guidance and Counseling from Truman State
University, Kirksville, MO. Other duties include financial aid
workshop, Senior to Sophomore and Dual Credit coordinator, peer
counseling, Scholarship Program, HOBY, career education coordinator, and
serves on the School Improvement Committee.

Ritter F - L |
The Director of Guidance
at Canon City High School is Tim Ritter. This is Mr. Ritter’s 18th
year in education and his 15th year at Canon City High School. Prior to
becoming a counselor Mr. Ritter was a Special Education Teacher for 9
years. He earned is Masters in Counseling from the University of Phoenix
in 1996. Other responsibilities include co-sponsor for Peer Counseling,
Student Support Team, Scholarships, Student Rotarians/Lions/Elks of the
Month, and a member of the district’s District Wide Emotional Behavior
Support team (DWEBS).

Ms.
Hillegas S - Z |
Ms. Mary Hillegas is
one of the newest additions to the CCHS Counseling Team. She recently
received her MA in Counseling and Human Services from the University
of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Duties for Ms. Hillegas include
ACT/SAT Coordinator, GATE Program Liason, D.A.R. Good Citizen
Coordinator and coordinating the Counseling Newletter.
Ms. Hillegas will serve
students with last names beginning with S-Z.
